My insomnia is at it's worst state ever (I'd only probably get some sleep around 4am even if i have a review session the next day...), my attention span is getting shorter by the day (i can't make myself do anything for a long period of time anymore... it's always in short bursts) and my right shoulder aches like hell.... but then again, that's just me.... :D
And now, to the real reason to this post....
OOOOOOkay! a sudden announcement of a no review session leads to me posting these... :)
hope you guys are still interested... :)

Prologue / Chapter1
CHAPTER 2:
There was a bit of an uneasy smile on Maki’s shocked face as she bowed to everyone, when Toma pushed her in.
“You’re all here already?!” Toma exclaimed, finally turning around from closing the door and noticing the five pairs of eyes looking at them with varying degrees of shock, amusement, or both.
“Ne! What’s this, a drama reunion?!” Jin complained, having been the only person in the room who had not worked with Maki on a drama.
“Why are you two together?!” Shun had demanded.
Maki chuckled as she sat on the space Shun had vacated, between him and Matsujun, opposite Yamapi. Toma took a seat next to his best friend, the couches adjacent to him having been already occupied by Kame and Jin.
There was a weird sort of smile playing on Toma’s lips that worried Yamapi, coupled with a glint in his eye.
“Saw her when I was leaving the set…” Toma smiled. “It so happened that the studio she was working on was next to mine…”
“I’m sorry for intruding…” Maki said. “I didn’t know you’d all be here… Toma-kun said he was just meeting Jun-kun tonight…”
Matsujun raised an eyebrow at a smiling Toma the same time Yamapi turned to him. It wasn’t Matsujun who contacted Toma; it was Yamapi.
“It’s been a while ne, Maki-chan?” said Kame, ignoring the glaring that is sent Toma’s way.
“Yeah… it’s been…” Maki smiled, obviously uneasy with the idea of being the only girl in the room with these 6 men. But it wasn’t really the presence of the six men that was making her feel uneasy, curiously, it’s the guy who she had worked with the most amongst all of them, the one guy who had turned to look at her after glaring at Toma. Yamashita Tomohisa.
There was something with the way Yamapi looks at her that makes her feel weird. It was almost as if he was assessing her. She has not seen or talked to the guy ever since the end of Kurosagi’s movie. She thought they separated on good terms, not exactly as friendly as they were when Nobuta ended, but good enough that she thought they could both smile and acknowledge each other when they meet next. She couldn’t really understand what had changed between the two of them over the course of their three collaborations. She thought she was the only one who was thinking it, but from the way Yamapi was looking at her, he apparently thought so too.
Four hours later, their little group started dispersing. Shun had excused himself earlier to pick up Yu from her recording session, Kame had agreed, grudgingly, to drop Jin off to his place on the way home since the latter had drank too much for his own good (and still moody about something he wouldn’t talk about). The remaining four were just starting to leave when Toma received a phone call.
“Who’s that?” asked Yamapi, seeing the grim set on his best friend’s face when he returned.
“My manager,” sighed Toma. “Apparently I have to be at a photo shoot in ten minutes since I’m going to have to be at Yokohama first thing in the morning.”
“Too bad…” said Matsujun. “Can you make it?”
“Yeah, only had a few drinks…” Toma shrugged. “I’m really sorry, Horikii…” he said, turning to her. He had promised her (and Shun before he left) that he’d drive her home.
“No, it’s all right…” Maki smiled. “I can take care of myself. It’s not yet that late…”
“No! Shun would kill me if you went home alone…” Toma exclaimed, turning to the other two men with what he perceived to be cute, pleading eyes. Shun, after all, don’t just play the big brother role for Maki, he sees himself as her big brother, the same way he is to Mao. Not to mention that there is a whole hoard of Johnny’s who will actually hold him personally responsible if something happens to one of their favorite female co-star/friend because he did not drive her home.
“I can drive you home…” Jun volunteered. Maki’s place was not strictly along his way but he wouldn't be able to rest well without knowing if she gets home safely.
“No. I will,” suddenly came Yamapi’s voice, making three heads turn to him, there was inquiry in the eyes of both Matsujun and Maki while Toma simply looked slightly amused. “You have an early morning shoot tomorrow, my day won’t start ‘til 10…” he told Matsujun.
----------
It was too bad Yamapi had his head down when he made this tiny confession because he didn’t see Matsujun move.
In less than a second, Matsujun had pulled him up by the collar, slow and torturous murder written all over his eyes. “You are aware that the reason we wanted someone to drive Maki home was to make sure she arrives there safe, right?” Matsujun said between gritted teeth.
“Look… I didn’t plan for his to happen!” said Yamapi, meeting his eyes.
“But it did!” Matsujun bit back, tightening his grip around his collar. “Why?!”
“Bec—” Yamapi started but he closed his mouth again, remembering that night.
The car ride to her place was quiet, if not an awkward one. Even at the bar, she wouldn’t look at his way, wouldn’t talk to him directly, and wouldn’t even smile at him the way she smiled at the others, the way she used to smile at him before. The conversation they both tried starting during the whole ride ended as soon as it started.
When they did reach her apartment, something propelled him to walk her to the door no matter how she insisted that she’s fine. But when they reached her door and she turned to him to say goodbye, looking into his eyes for the first time that night, he felt the urge to lean into her. And the next thing he knew, he was kissing her and did not feel like letting her go.
“I don’t know…” he admitted.
Matsujun growled, but he somehow knew that Yamapi was telling the truth. “What are you planning to do now?!” he demanded.
Yamapi looked into his eyes for a few moments before he looked down again.
“I don’t know…” he repeated, looking thoroughly confused. “She wouldn’t even tell me about her pregnancy…”
“WHAT?!”
----------
Matsujun had finally let go of Yamapi’s collar, only to push him forcefully back to his seat, making the younger man’s body slam into the couch’s surface.
“Are you telling me that you’ve got me all fired up about the ‘what if’s’ that might have resulted from what you did to Maki?!” he yelled.
Yamapi winced, not at Matsujun’s tone since he was already expecting that from him but at the way Matsujun referred to what happened between him and Maki. It sounded like he raped her.
“No!” he cried indignantly.
“Then what do you mean she wouldn’t even tell you?!” Matsujun said in that same tone, still glaring at him.
Yamapi sat back up to look at Matsujun straight in the eye. “I tried calling her earlier but she wouldn’t pick up. I sent her messages but she wouldn’t even reply. I think she’s avoiding me. The only reason I was able to find out she was pregnant was because I accompanied my mother to the hospital to visit a friend and I saw her there…” he said. “I heard her gynecologist tell her about it when they were leaving her office.”
Matsujun simply looked at Yamapi for a moment, opened his mouth then closed it again. He closed his eyes, fighting back the headache threatening to implode as he crashed back into his seat.
----------
“Good morning Jun-kun!” Aiba greeted heartily, looking up from his manga, the moment Matsujun entered their green room. 3/5ths of Arashi was already there, preparing for a string of shoots for another of their regular shows, VS Arashi.
Matsujun smiled, greeting everyone in the room as he settled his things on his self-appointed spot in the room.
“You seem happy today…” he said, referring to Aiba.
“When was he never?” laughed Nino, looking up from his DS to smirk at their tallest member.
Aiba paused long enough to show their gamer that he can also pout before his lips broke into a huge smile again as he said,
“Of course! We should all be happy and thankful of small favors the world offers us each day!”
Matsujun couldn’t help but agree. For one, he’s thankful that his schedule for today is mostly allotted to shooting for VSA, meaning that his body may be physically exhausted by the end of the day, but his mind would not be as tired as it would be during his drama shoots. Besides, shootings for their game show had long since been some sort of therapy for him, taking his mind off all the pressure and expectations on him (and them) right now, and simply focusing on trying to win the game while having fun.
He needed its therapeutic effects now more than ever with the recent events that occurred; it has been two days since Yamapi told him about his problem but the guy seemed to have not done anything about it yet (and as far as he knew, Yamapi had not yet shared any of that information with anyone else), then there’s the ever increasing pressure of his new drama and their groups upcoming activities, and then the fact that Mao still did not want to talk about the more serious stuff with him.
“Ne, Jun-kun… Have you read this?” asked Ohno from his customary seat by the window, brandishing a paper at him.
Recognizing the paper’s name, Matsujun laughed. “Since when did you read Cyzo, Riida?”
“Since Sho-chan saw an article there that made him buy the paper on his way here…” supplied Nino, still glued to his DS.
Matsujun raised an eyebrow, doubting and voicing out that their newscaster could find something useful in a tabloid.
“You’d be surprised…” Aiba shrugged with a small smile as Ohno tossed him the paper.
Matsujun froze for a full 30 second when he saw Cyzo’s headlines: “HORIKITA MAKI PREGNANT WITH A JOHNNY’S BABY?!”

Date: 2010-08-12 10:56 pm (UTC)Anyways, the headline makes me laugh. I wonder how many people would believe this news if it ever happens or who the first Johnny that would pop in their head...haha...
What happen to Mao? Is she good friends with Maki in the story? I would love that - double M's.
Thanks for the update. I love it <3

Date: 2010-08-13 02:43 am (UTC)about the headline, i'm not sure it would really be believable considering that it's from Cyzo... but i do believe (and strongly too) that if such a headline would actually exist, it would cause quite an uproar! after all, Maki had worked with a lot of Johnny's... though i am curious too on who's the first person that would pop in their minds when they see the headlines but had not read the story yet...
Mao is appearing on the next chapter... and her relationship with Maki will also be explained... it would also explain Mao's part in the prologue...
thanks for reading... :)

Date: 2010-08-13 06:21 pm (UTC)I don't really know the mag. Cyzo. It's a sleazy gossip mag? Anyways, I think the names that would most likely come to mind is Yamapi and Toma and maybe even Sho since they recently worked together in the drama so that's going to stick in their minds for a while =D I think such a rumor would be pretty interesting though...
I can't wait for Mao's appearance. I wonder how a friendship between them is like? I'll look foreword to your next chapter =D

Date: 2010-08-14 02:21 am (UTC)Cyzo, from what i've learned, is a tabloid/gossip mag. i found out about it because of the numerous articles they've been posting about arashi or some of it's members that is either derogatory, crazy or both... it's quite amusing at times actually, or else it would really be irritating... i heard they pick on not only arashi but a lot of other Japanese celebrities too.
yeah, Yamapi, Toma or Sho would most likely be the ones that would surface... either way, it would be big... :)
next chapter would be up sometime today coz i made a resolution last night... :)
