She had a list of everything her dream guy is going to be.
He isn't it.
End of uhm.... Story?
He isn't it.
End of uhm.... Story?

That in itself is amazing considering how little sleep the girl has been getting due to the number of school and work engagements she’s having. She’s been up half the night actually, trying to catch up with schoolwork she missed because of work.
But none of that is going to stop her from facing the new day right and with a huge smile. Why wouldn’t she when a new day meant a new chance for her to get one step closer to fulfilling her dreams.
Now, for any other teenager some dreams are just meant to be dreams but she isn’t an ordinary teenager. No ordinary teenager would have starred in as many dramas, movies and commercials as Mirai had. This meant that there are some dreams that are literally by the tips of her fingers. However, there’s still one more dream she still a bit further to fulfilling.
And it just happens to be her most special dream.
She had always wanted to be married. She had long since dreamt of having the kind of relationship she had always seen in her parents, the love they shared, how compatible they are together. She had always imagined herself in that kind of situation.
She, also, had imagined who her future husband is going to be.
Well, not who ‘who’ exactly, like his actual identity. It’s more like who ‘how’, like how he’s going to be.
She had actually already has a list of what her future husband is going to be like, how he’s going to act about certain things and in certain situations. And part of the list is that the guy should be responsible.

“Mirai-chan!” Umika cheered just as she entered their homeroom.
It was still early, about a quarter of an hour more before the bell rings for their first subject for the day but Mirai had always been the early bird type. And so are her friends seeing that Suzuka is with Umika in there along with some of their other classmates. The only person she didn’t really expect to see there that early in the morning was the guy with Suzuka and Umika, Nakajima Yuto.
“I was not expecting you to be this early!” Suzuka chuckled just as Mirai joined their little group by the back of the room. “My manager said that you got off work practically midnight already!”
“Yeah,” Mirai smiled. “But you know me, I’m used to walking up this early.”
“Ah, the life of being an actress,” Yuto said, sighing condescendingly. “Too much work and too little rest all day, all the time…”
“Says the idol who is very well rested,” Mirai chuckled sarcastically, making them all grin. Each and every one of them is aware that even Yuto’s most lax schedule is as hectic as some of the other’s worst days at work. “Looks like you’re alone today though. Those two have something to do again?”
“Nah,” Yuto shook his head with a smile, knowing who she’s referring to. “They don’t have anything for today. Though they might end up a bit late at worst since they had a pretty late night last night with Yuma-kun,” he added, referring to his friends' other group mate in their other group.
“That would be a shocker,” Umika said rather seriously, making them all turn to her in surprise. “Because really, Yamada-kun had always been early in coming to class, right? I mean, the only times he’s just in the nick of time would be equal to the times Chinen-kun fanboys Ohno-san in a day…”
“Yeah,” Suzuka agreed as they all started chuckling. “Very rare indeed…”
“Hey, give the guy a break,” Yuto said a little while later as their laughter died down, defending his best friend. “Yama-chan’s very busy because of work,” he reasoned.
“Oh, nobody’s taking that away from him, “Mirai assured him with a smile and a slight shake of the head. Yuto had always been quite protective and defensive for his friend’s case although he also likes joking around the guy.
As the minutes passed by, their classmates slowly started coming in while their little group of four enjoyed a nice little chat by the back of the room, catching up on what the other had missed while s/he was away or talking about the projects, work or school-wise, they had on their plates. Pretty soon, their group of four became five as Kamiki Ryunosuke entered the room and immediately joined their group the moment he saw them there, the guy excitedly starting a conversation with Yuto about how cool the latter’s sempai is, Matsuoka Masahiro, who Ryunosuke and Umika are currently working with for a drama.
And then they became six when Chinen Yuri arrived, who having heard the name of a sempai who’s in really good terms with his favorite person in the world, Ohno Satoshi, joined the conversation.
But while their group now is a lot bigger than what it was moments ago, they could easily, actually, become one person bigger. It appears it wasn’t going to be the case though when, just about a minute or so before the bell rings, that one guy still hadn’t arrived.
“Huh? Yama-chan is not going to be late, is he?” Yuri wondered aloud as he glanced at his wristwatch before turning to the door.
“In Yamada-kun’s own words, he’s never late. We’re all just early,” Kamiki chuckled as they all headed to each of their respective seats.
When Yuri simply sighed, Mirai shook her head and said with a smile “You don’t have to worry about that guy. You’ll see, he’ll be here in no time.”
And just like magic, barely had those words left Mirai’s mouth did they hear the sound of feet rushing into the room followed by a loud and confident declaration of “I am not late!”
Mirai simply rolled her eyes while their other friends laughed at Yamada Ryosuke’s antics as the guy headed towards her direction towards the very back of the room. She had had the (mis)fortune of having to sit next to him since day 1 of her entering Horikoshi Gakuen.
“Of course not,” she said in an almost lecture. “And you’re dressed properly too,” she added, noting how Yamada’s necktie had not been tied properly.
When Yamada looked down at his uniform and looked up at Mirai again with the look that says plainly ‘Which one is wrong now?’, Mirai could only sigh and shake her head again, pushing herself to her feet to stand in front of Yamada.
“When will you ever learn to dress properly?” she said as she fixed his tie for him, oblivious of the fact that almost everyone, if not just plain everyone, in the room has their eyes on them.
“Oh, I’m used to being dressed,” Yamada said with a mischievous smile on his lips, causing Mirai, who’s finished with his necktie already, to push him by the shoulders before she returned to her seat. Yamada simply laughed, and the rest of the class, especially their friends, smile at each other meaningfully.
And then their teacher entered to start the class.
“You know,” Suzuka whispered a little while later as she leaned back a bit from where she was seated a seat in front of Mirai for her to be able to hear her. “You two look good together.”
“What?!” MIrai whispered back. “Are you delirious?”
“Oh come on,” Suzuka chuckled quietly. “You’ll never know, he might be prince charming already…”
Mirai was just about to open her mouth to contradict when their teacher called on the student to her left to answer her question and they both straightened up.
And while their classmate answered the question dutifully, her eyes wandered to her right, where, she was almost (un)surprised to see Yamada doodling on his notebook, with no book in sight.
“Where’s your book?” she whispered to him.
“I forgot,” he said simply and she couldn’t help but shake her head exasperatingly and sigh before signaling him to inch closer so they could share her book.
And as Yamada moved his chair a bit more noisily than how she had intended him to, she couldn’t help but sigh again.
No, she can’t and won’t have an irresponsible prince charming. Therefore, it follows that her prince charming is not him.
-----TBC-----
first off, i know the title sucks and the premise might already be a bit overused... (oh come on! who am i kidding? it's really overused) but i just felt like writing these two's version...
secondly, i am not as familiar with the other students of Horikoshi Gakuen as i am of, well, the school's alumni. familiarizing with them is a work in progress...
