well, it still is, in some places of the world... (i'm just not quite sure about where i live in since the three clocks/watches i have are all saying a different time)

anyway...

earlier this morning, [livejournal.com profile] azraqey  came up with an idea to make something for this years big event: Arashi's 11th Anniversary! Congratulations!

so, about half a day later, (And with with Sho's SSLA being pushed down again-- it'd be up some time tomorrow... promise) here is...

TITLE: Aiba's Surprise: An Anniversary Special
CHARACTERS: Arashi members, Becky, Inoue Mao, Nagasawa Masami, Kobayashi Ryoko, Ishihara Satomi
PAIRING: Ohno/Kobayashi, Sho/Satomi, Aiba/Becky, Nino/Masami, Jun/Mao
RATINGS: PG
DISCLAIMER: A collaboration with [livejournal.com profile] azraqey , she started this idea and i just ran with it... :) written originally just for [livejournal.com profile] mukae_ni_ikuyo but she said it's okay to cross post too... (so yeah, sorry for the spam) we own nothing but the plot... everything else is already owned by someone else... :)
SUMMARY: Aiba won the chance to plan for their debut anniversary activities. None of the other four ever expected the kind of activity he had in mind...

“Whoever said it’s a good idea to bet on what we’d do on our debut day?”

“Yeah! It’s one of my rare rest days now… I really wanted to stay home and sleep!”

With these coming from the two youngest members of the group, both of whom eyeing Sho with venom, Sho couldn’t help but cringe.

It was during one of their breaks for Arashi ni Shiyagare a few days ago when it happened, they were waiting for a bit longer as the staff prepared the stage for their next guest. Aiba was getting bored, really bored by the second, something that already bode unimaginably horrifying things to the other four. After all, when Aiba reaches a certain level of boredom, his (often questionable) sanity leaves him.

It was actually Ohno who first suggested that they play a game. Well, there really isn’t anything much five guys can do when they can easily be called in any time to start the shoot so they said yes. But when Ohno mentioned janken as the game, Aiba asked “What would we be playing for?”

Really, there are tons of other things they could have come up with to play for but Sho shrugged and said “The one who wins gets to decide what we do on our debut anniversary…” which of course brought a spark to their animal-lover’s eyes and worry on the younger two’s face. They’ve already been informed by their manager that the 3rd of November would be given as a rest day to all of them, including Nino, in celebration of their anniversary. That worry was for good measure too since the first game was immediately won by no one else but Aiba.

Jun and Nino had insisted (while trying hard to mask and hide their panic) that they go for a race to three, and then a race to five when Aiba kept on winning. It wasn’t, of course, that they didn’t trust Aiba to come up with something they’d like for their debut anniversary, it’s just that they didn’t trust Aiba to come up with something that wouldn’t cause them a heart attack before liking what he’d prepare for their debut anniversary.

They would have gone for a race to seven too, and if worse comes to worst, a race to ten, if only the production assistant didn’t knock on their door to tell them that the shooting is about to resume. That production assistant would probably be having nightmares for a few nights with the murderous glare he received from the younger two when he came in to announce that.

But in the end, there wasn’t anything that they were able to do to wrestle from Aiba the right to decide for their debut anniversary activity. And that was the reason why all four are now sitting across each other on a (not-so-stretch) limousine with windows boarded up with black cloth, waiting for Aiba’s plan to unfold.

“Stop complaining!” Aiba called merrily from the front. “You all agreed anyway so you have no choice… Besides we’re here already!”

With a confused (and slightly scared) look at each other, Sho, being closest to the door, made a move to open it only to be taken aback by the scene that greeted him.

They were at the beach, facing what looked to be a part of Chiba’s sea but the surroundings didn’t look to be one of Chiba’s commercial beaches. If anything, other than a hut a short distance away, the beach looked to be deserted.

“Where are we?” Jun asked as they filed out of the limo, none of them looking quite as apprehensive as they’ve felt when they were still in the car.

“Gentlemen, welcome to Chiba…” Aiba greeted, signaling the limo driver to drive away.

“And what are we doing here?” Nino asked.

“I figured we could spend our anniversary at the beach…” Aiba grinned as he led the way to the hut. “It’s not Hawaii but this works…”

“Not bad…” Ohno exclaimed, taking in their surroundings and eyeing the sea happily before turning to look at their youngest two who were no longer quite as murderous as five minutes ago. “Not bad at all…”

“This place is actually being developed to become another commercial beach…” Aiba explained. “Dad knew the developer so he got us permission to use the place today…”

“So we’re the only ones here?” Sho asked.

By then, they were already only a few feet away from the hut, close enough for them to hear that Aiba had placed one of their CD’s on the player and is currently playing Arashi songs on the loop.

Aiba turned around to look at the other four, before grinning widely.

“Not exactly.”

The moment those words left his lips, a female figure emerged from the hut and waved at them.

“You sure took your time huh?” she called.

“Becky-chan?!” Ohno exclaimed while Jun turned to Aiba and smiled “Becky-chan’s here too huh…”

“She’s not the only one…” Nino muttered, seeing that the hut had four other occupants.
-----

“I never thought you were in contact with Aiba-chan…” Ohno chuckled as he reeled in his line to put in a new bait.

He and Ryoko had gone out on one of the boats they found near the beach. Aiba said it’d be all right for them to take one as long as they take care while they’re afloat. And to be sure to be back an hour before sunset.

“I didn’t!” Ryoko chuckled, shaking her head as she tries to apply suntan on his arms and neck with him wiggling around like a child, something he absolutely forgot to do again even if she reminded him numerous times already. “I asked my manager and she said that Aiba-san didn’t contact her too… I actually thought you were the one who gave him my number…”

“He never asked…” he said as she sat next to him. “I’m actually surprised he knew about us… I thought he was already asleep when I told Jun-kun about it that one time we went out drinking…”

Ohno’s relationship with his Maou co-star could easily be considered as the youngest and freshest relationship within the group. Most, if not all, of them would probably have guessed that Ohno is pursuing Ryoko but none of them would have guessed that they’re already together. Even Jun was quite taken aback when he slipped and told him about it. But it shouldn’t really be that surprising since Ohno had just recently realized he liked her after seeing her again in one of the Tokyo’s art exhibits he went to.

This was why 2 of the other members, Sho and Nino namely, was held speechless for a bit when, amongst and amidst their respective girlfriends, they saw her standing in the hut.

“Drinking huh…” Ryoko pouted. “And when and where was that?”

“I told you about it, remember?” Ohno chuckled, turning to put an arm over his girlfriend’s shoulder, pulling her closer to him. “Two weeks ago… Aiba-chan was a bit lonely because Becky-chan was sent for a shoot overseas with some of their co-hosts and he was one of those who were left back here so he asked me and Jun to join him for some drinks… Why? Are you jealous?” he grinned.

“Why? Should I be?” Ryoko simply countered, pouting playfully, which made him all the more chuckle.

“Of course not…” he said. “Nothing happened, besides, it’s just the three of us… Though I think I did drink a bit too much that night… Because I ended up telling Jun-kun about us when I didn’t intend to…”

“Oh…” Ryoko exclaimed, her tension going down at his last words.

Ohno sensed that of course, which is why he rubbed his palm on her arm as he pulled her closer to kiss her on the forehead. “Yeah… Because I was planning on telling them about us on my birthday…”

Positively beaming up, she smiled and looked up at him. “Why on your birthday?”

“Nothing much really… I’m turning 30 so it’s like I’m opening new things and experiences in my life… I just thought it’d be fitting…” he said.

Ryoko couldn’t help but smile at this. Before she could say anything though, they both felt a tug on Ohno’s line.

“You caught something already?” she exclaimed instead.

“Apparently…” Ohno grinned. “Looks like I’d have a good catch before Aiba’s deadline!”
-----

“So, how’s the shooting?” Sho asked, moving his bishop to where Satomi’s knight had been.

The moment Ohno and Ryoko left aboard one of the boats, Satomi led him to one part of the beach a good distance away from the hut where she had a beach mat spread out, complete with a beach umbrella and a chess set, their favorite game together.

“It’s good…’ Satomi replied, her eyes glued to the game board for a bit before picking her remaining knight to take out one of his castles. “It’s quite interesting, actually… I like the character I’m playing. She’s like a dark-white knight or something… She’s not entirely good but she’s doing her best to help others…”

“Ah…” Sho nodded, moving his queen just in time when he noticed one of her pieces ready to take it out.

“How about you?” Satomi asked, moving her bishop in line to check his king, before looking up and smiling at him.

Sho smiled back at her, he didn’t even look down to look at his pieces as he moved his king away from the danger zone.

“It’s good… Now that the movie filming is up, I have more time to rest…”

“That’s good news then…” she nodded before looking down on the set again, biting her inner lip as she thought hard for her next move. The moment she chose one though, and moved the desired piece, she looked up again and smiled “At least I wouldn’t be worrying about you and Aoi Miyazaki-san that much…”

“Miyazaki-san?” Sho chuckled, moving one of his pieces. “Why?”

“She’s pretty…” she shrugged, starting to put her pieces into attack again. “And she’s really nice too… It’s not impossible for anyone to like her…”

“And she’s married too…” Sho added as he made his move. “Besides, I think you’re a lot prettier than her…”

“Really?” Satomi smiled, looking at him before making her move.

“Yeah…” Sho smiled, moving one of his pieces before looking straight into her eyes and adding “And you’re the one I love…”

“That’s sweet…” Satomi smiled, blushing a bit. “But enough of the distractions…” she added after a few seconds, pointing to the game set and indicating that she had already made her move. “A prize for the one who wins, remember?”

“Of course…” Sho nodded, smiling widely the moment he looked back down at the set. “Checkmate!” he suddenly announced.

“What?!” Satomi exclaimed, looking closely at the board. It appeared that she’d been too focused on attacking his king that she didn’t notice that his queen was a mere move away from capturing her king. “How did that happen?”

Sho chuckled. “I guess I’m just better at distracting you than you think…’ he said, grinning. “Now, for that prize…”

Still pouting, she sighed. “What do you want?” she asked, looking at him.

Sho pretended to think for a while as she watched him, and then he grinned and closed his eyes, indicating that he wants a kiss.

Satomi chuckled, shaking her head as she moved to give him his prize.

“My boyfriend is a dork… And I love him too…”
-----

“Are you asleep?” Masami whispered softly as her hands continued to move through his hair, massaging his scalp along the way.

Nino had his head on her lap the moment they sat on one of the beach mats they’ve spread there before the boys even arrived. And he’s had his eyes closed ever since.

“If I’m asleep, I wouldn’t be able to answer that question now, wouldn’t I?” Nino chuckled, opening his eyes just a tiny fraction to look up to her.

“Don’t be going all bratty on me now…” Masami pouted, hitting him lightly on the shoulders. “I haven’t really seen you in a while so be nice…”

“I am nice…” Nino grinned, opening his eyes fully this time to look at her fully. “And I miss you too…”

This earned him another light hit on the shoulder but this time coupled with a soft chuckle from her.

“I was really worried about you, you know…” she started. “I was worried you’d still be playing games even when you should be resting and that you wouldn’t be eating properly…”

“You wouldn’t start lecturing me now, wouldn’t you?” Nino said. “Because I’m already hearing a lot of that from my manager, from Sho-chan and Jun-kun, and from my mom…”

“That’s because you’re so hard-headed about these kinds of stuff…” Masami sighed. “Your mother even told me that she didn’t know where you inherited this kind of hardheadedness…”

“You still love me though…” Nino asked, looking at her with puppy dog eyes. “Right?”

“You’re trying to be cute…” she smiled, pinching his cheeks.

Nino chuckled. “Well, it’s not really something I should have to try since I’m already cute…”

Masami ended up chuckling and shaking her head at the amount of self-confidence her boyfriend portrays.

“I seriously thought you wouldn’t be coming today…” she said after a while.

“It was a deal…” Nino shrugged. “Besides, Aiba-chan would nag me to the end of time if I didn’t join in today… I originally wanted to just stay home and sleep, you know… It turns out he had a good idea… I’m almost glad that I came…”

“Only almost?” Masami asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Well…” Nino grinned mischievously. “I’d like it better if it’s just the two of us, at home, on the bed…”

Blushing, Masami moved to brush her hand over Nino’s face, closing his eyes on the process. “Go to sleep Nino…”

“That’s what I had in mind…” he said innocently, but the twinkle in his eyes and the grin on his lips were anything but innocent as he winked meaningfully at her.
-----

“This is nice… We haven’t been at the beach in a while…” Mao smiled as she and Jun strolled at the part of the beach where the very edge of the sea touches the sand, each of them having a hand on the other’s waist.

“Yeah… It makes me kind of want to go surfing some time soon…” Jun chuckled before turning to her and added accusingly “But you told me you still had to do a shoot with Shun-kun today… I can’t believe you girls agreed to Aiba’s scheme on this one!”

“It’s not that bad…” Mao chuckled. “He and Becky-chan actually had everything planned already when they approached me… By then, the only one they haven’t convinced was actually Ryoko-chan…”

“It’s not impossible considering how those two loves to come up with crazy plans and stuff…” he said. “I guess it’s safe to say that none of us ever thought he had something like this planned for today… We were really afraid of what he was planning when we were still on the way here…”

“It’s really nice…” Mao repeated, stopping to pick up a stray stick they’ve passed and started doodling with it. “I couldn’t believe it actually when Aiba-chan told me about Oh-chan and Ryoko-chan… I was almost sure he was just joking around since you never mentioned Oh-chan having a girlfriend… But he was really serious…”

Jun chuckled, stepping back to allow her more space to work. “I was the first one he told, actually when Aiba-chan was almost dead drunk… It turned out Aiba-chan was listening too, he just thought it was just in his dreams when he told me about it the next day…”

“I was actually amazed…” Mao chuckled, still working with the stick on her hand. “It almost seemed like Oh-chan had no plans on getting a girlfriend…”

“I don’t think he had…” he chuckled, stepping around the lines she made to move behind her and hug her from the back. “Things like this sometimes just happen when you least expect it to…”

“Just like what happened to us, you mean?” she asked, turning her head to face him. “I never really expected to fall for you, you know…”

“But you did…” he grinned confidently, tightening his hold around her waist. “And you’ve made me the happiest guy on earth because of that…”

Mao chuckled. “Why do you seem to be a whole lot cheesier when we’re on the beach?” she asked.

“You don’t like it?” he challenged.

Mao chuckled. “I didn’t say that…” she said as she turned around to fully face him, dropping the stick and forgetting the half-finished ‘masterpiece’ she’d done on the sand as her hands moved to form a link at the back of his neck.

“I thought you’d say that…” Jun chuckled as he lowered his head and captured her lips.
-----

“This seems like a complete success!” Aiba cheered as he and Becky watched the others from where the two of them were seated at the hut, with Becky leaning on his torso.

“So it seems…” Becky smiled.

“I’m glad… It almost looked like it wasn’t going to work when Kobayashi Ryoko-chan didn’t say yes at first… ” Aiba continued.

“I was expecting her to hesitate from the very beginning so it wasn’t much of a shock…” she said. “What I’m truly amazed at is that you managed to actually lure all your group mates out here today…”

“Well, they had to…” Aiba chuckled. “After all, that’s what we all agreed on when we played that game…. They didn’t have much of a choice…”

“What if you lost?” Becky asked, turning to him. “How would you have made them come here?”

“Sho-chan and Oh-chan would be easy…” Aiba chuckled. “Jun-kun and Nino-chan would be more difficult… But I’d find a way…”

“You never cease to amaze me…” Becky chuckled, shaking her head. “First, for convincing me to actually give you a chance, and now this…”

“I’m Arashi’s miracle boy after all!” Aiba chuckled. “I’m full of surprises!”

When Becky simply laughed and shook her head endearingly, he continued “Speaking of surprises, I have something for you…”

Becky sat up straight as Aiba handed him a small square and colorful box, about half the size of a regular shoe box. Her eyes were still on him, a mix of excitement and confusion in them, while she untied the ribbon and opened the box.

The first thing that caught her eye was the silver chain that was neatly designed as a star in the box. Only when she pulled it up did she notice the pink dog collar that was connected to it.

“Our dog back home gave birth…” Aiba grinned. “I thought we could take one and take care of it between the two of us since we both don’t have a pet here in Tokyo…”

Becky turned to him with big, bright eyes. She’d always wanted to take one of their pets in her parent’s house to her own place in Tokyo but she knew it wouldn’t be good for the pets since they’d have to adjust to a new environment anew. She never told him though, which is why she was speechless for a while.

Aiba seemed to have become a bit apprehensive though as the moments ticked without her saying a word.

“That is, if you want to…” he added anxiously.

“Of course I do…” she grinned, pulling him for a hug. “I’d even let you name our baby…”

Obviously beaming, Aiba asked when the embrace ended “Can I name him Arashi-chan?”

“No!”

“But it’s our anniversary today…”

Becky chuckled, shaking her head. “No, Aiba...” she said, kissing him full on the lips to stop him from anymore arguing. It works every time too.
-----

“Look, the sun is setting…” Aiba announced as they all gathered around the table that held all the food and drinks.

Everyone had returned from their respective rendezvous with their respective and beloved others and are now gathered to have a light snack, as per Aiba’s strict instructions. Even Ohno and Ryoko came back just in time, with their leader being so happy with his good catch, and the rest of them grateful at Ryoko to see that he doesn’t look extremely sunburned like they all feared.

“Yeah, it is…” Satomi agreed as the rest of them turned around to watch as the sun slowly made his descent to the meet the water.

As the colors clashed and made battle, their surroundings were bathed with an orangey glow, amazing the ten expectators with the view they’ve just been blessed with. Several “It’s pretty”, “Amazing” and “It’s beautiful” could be heard.

“It’s a good way to end our debut anniversary, isn’t it?” Aiba asked.

With that beautiful of a setting, each one with the one woman he loves the most, and with the four other guys who’re more than just a brother or friend to them, none of them would even think of disagreeing.

Next to Aiba and holding hands with Ryoko, Ohno’s other hand moved to pat Aiba by the shoulders.

“Not bad…” he grinned. “Not bad at all Aiba-chan…”

Catching each others eyes, they all agreed that that would be the understatement of the year. But for the moment, it would suffice, since none of them could really describe how beautiful they’re feeling at the moment.
