something, at last!
This has got to be my most unproductive week of the year yet... After the slight adventures of Monday, and a couple more on Tuesday (along with finding out most of my friends still needs a lot of practice on reading between the lines, at least when i'm not with them, to avoid themselves, and our other friends, from getting in trouble... seriously! i never thought they wouldn't have been given an idea considering the things they told me that happened that night i wasn't able to join them, although they did when it was over. i mean, i would have at least have my doubts! it's either they are denser than i thought, or i'm a lot more speculative, especially in the matters that involves the heart...) but other than that, i spent most of the week sleeping... yes, sleeping...
well, i did start on my job-hunting crusade and finished my actual resume, which surprisingly was a hard thing to do (since it's for real this time, and not just school-related stuff) and had prepared most of the stuff i'm going to need from the applications to the interviews, etc....
i did try to work on my fics too... i started working on the Jun/Mao/Toma AU fic i was planning on doing but i haven't really gotten that far yet to start posting... Of course, trying to write something with my creative juices running dry was difficult, i'm actually proud of myself for getting as far as i did, which wasn't far at all...
i tried getting back my creative juices though, by watching a couple of English-style (as in British style, not American style) romantic-comedy movies, and a few more princess-centered movies (my sister said i was getting desperate when she found out)... they sort of worked too, since i came up with an idea for two fics, one AU and one RL, both with completely different premises, both one shots, and both started but is not finished (though i think i intend to finish them once i get my real rhythm).
The thing is, the one thing that actually made me start something and finish it came from a text message that my sister's friend sent her that i read when i was browsing through her phone...
And while i do not claim that it is great, or even that it is good, it pleased me enough to make me want to share it (and not send it straight to the recycle bin...) it can either be a long drabble or a short one shot but i think i'm going with a short one shot with this...

DISCLAIMER: The only thing i own in this story is the plot...
It was a quiet afternoon at the Matsumoto apartment, one of the rare days that both the master and the (future) mistress of the house (or apartment, to be more exact) were at home. It was almost a miracle that they were both given an off day despite his usual busy schedule as a member of his group and the shooting of her ongoing drama so the two of them had decided to do what they’ve always loved doing with each other, but hadn’t been given much time to enjoy in a while… enjoying each other’s company.
He was reading a book as he sat on the very end of his pristine white sofa while she laid her head on his lap as she moved her pencil over her sketch pad. She wasn’t really drawing anything in particular, just doodling, savoring the time she gets to spend with him. However, she’s also getting a tad bit bored, having gotten used to being always on the go at the set with his best friend.
When she gets bored, she becomes playful.
And when she becomes playful, she wants his undivided attention.
He, however, looked so deeply absorbed in his novel that he didn’t even seem to notice that she had placed her pencil and sketch pad on the center table.
“Jun…” she called his name in a sweet, singsong voice, trying to get his attention. But when she saw and heard that the only response she got from him was a soft “Hmm?” without him even moving his eyes from the book, she pouted thoughtfully, trying to figure out a (safe) way to get his full attention.
Just then, an idea entered her mind. With a sigh, she sat back up with her back to him.
“What’s wrong?” she heard him ask, making her smile thinking that her plan worked. But when she turned around a bit to steal a glance, she saw that he was still absorbed in his book.
“Nothing…” she replied, turning away from him again, her sigh coupled with a huff this time.
“Come on… What’s up?” she heard him ask, a small smile appearing on her lips again as she heard the book’s surface coming in contact with the table. Still, she did not turn around.
“Nothing, really… I’m just thinking that it’s our first time to spend this much time together in ages and yet you just sit there reading your book…” she said, thankful that he remained behind her for he would easily see the lies in her words as her smile kept getting wider.
“But you were sketching earlier…” he tried to reason.
She ignored this though as she continued, “I don’t think you even notice me…”
“So, Hime wants my attention huh?” she heard him chuckle. In a split second, she felt his arm around her waist as he pulled her back to lie on his lap.
She felt herself slowly getting giddy at the sweet smile he had on his lips as his alluring eyes looked directly into hers. But as an actress, she had long since learned how well to hide her inner feelings, she had two dramas and a movie’s worth of training with him in a span of three years to perfect that craft. This is why she was able to maintain her serious face even as he moved to tuck behind her ear the few strands of hair that fell on her face.
“I don’t think you even remember me when you’re out there shooting with the guys…” she continued. “I’d probably be the last person on your mind…”
“I guess this is your own way of telling me I’m always on your mind…” he chuckled.
Following the course of things, she pretended getting angry at how he’s taking things so lightly when she’s supposedly all serious as she pushed herself up the second time and leaned on the sofa next to him, her eyes trained away from him.
“It doesn’t matter anyway…” she said. “Because I’m probably the last person on your mind…”
“Of course not…” he said as he alleviated the stiffness of his neck by turning his head around a bit.
Knowing him as well as she does, she knew that it was a sign that he’s dropping off the book for the moment, a small smile on her lips slowly crept up, available for him to see, knowing that she now has his full and undivided attention.
“Really?” she asked. “Just for the record, how many times have I entered your mind?”
Considering his record of cheesy lines and romantic words, she was almost sure he’d say something cute and cheesy both at the same time, words that had always made her feel giggly and giddy even if it sometimes gets a little overboard on the cheese-o-meter. But his next words made her jaws drop, her fake anger disappear with real annoyance taking its place.
“Just once…”
“Oh…” was the only word that was able to escape her mouth as she made her move to stand up and go to another room, any room other than the one they’re both in.
She is seriously annoyed at his answer, that and the fact that he said it so casually and so carelessly that it was as if he didn’t care what it would make her feel. But she’s a lot more annoyed over the fact that she started the conversation, that she asked the question, that she expected anything at all from him.
Before she could get on her feet though, she was pulled back to the sofa again, her annoyance only fueled by the grin that was on his lips.
“What?!” she asked, her annoyance really showing as she glared away him. She didn’t like seeing that grin on his lips, especially during moments she’s really annoyed at him.
“You didn’t let me finish…” he said, his hand moving to her chin to make her look at him. “You entered my mind only once because the moment you entered, you never left…”
It didn’t take long for her annoyance to melt away after he uttered those words, and especially with the sweet smile that has replaced the grin on his lips. She couldn’t help but smile too as she closed her eyes to stop herself from tearing up after having gone through such an emotional rollercoaster in a span of just a couple of minutes. It was for this reason that she didn’t see it coming when he moved to kiss her forehead. She felt it though, along with the warm, tight hug that came along with it.
When the hug loosened though, and after she opened her eyes, she saw that there was another grin on his lips, this time a lot more mischievous than the previous one.
“Now that Hime has my full and undivided attention, what do you want us to do?” he asked meaningfully, although nothing by the way he grinned, to the fact that his hands traveled down to her waist indicated that there was anything else on his mind.

yay! i managed to finish something! :) although judging myself from the title i gave, i have to say that my creative juices are not quite there yet...
